03/31 THE DIFFERENT SPECIES OF BEDBUGS
Due to the uncanny ability of science to find out more about the environment that we live in,studies have been carried out on bedbugs and it is now known that they occur around the world and there are mainly six different species of bedbugs spread out throughout the world and not all of them feed on human blood. The bed bugs that is best adapted to human environments is the Climex lectularius which is found in temperate climates throughout the world. There is also the Climex hemipterus which has been known to infest poultry and bats and is mainly found in tropical regions. We have the Leptocimex boueti which is known to infest both bats and humans and is found in the tropics of West America and South America. There are also two other species that are known to infest bats and these are the Climex pilosellus and Climex pipistrella. The last of the species is the Haemotosiphon inodora which infests poultry and is mostly found in North America.
